This session is designed to be an open discussion about meeting the needs of exceptional learners in the general education setting. We will address types of interventions, how to collect data for a potential referral process, as well as how to find what you need from an IEP or 504 if a student has an already-identified need. We will break down the difference between a modification and an adaptation, and discuss how to support students with modifications or adaptations in your classroom. This conversation will apply to students who may be receiving services for a learning disability, behavior regulation, or gifted and talented support.
